Alberobello

The city of trulli

A location that characterizes all of Apulia for its uniqueness, so much so that it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and is defined among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. Alberobello is characterized by its
architectural structure, featuring fairy-tale alleys where ladies work lace, breathtaking views and the iconic white trulli that enhance and denote the whole town.

The oldest trulli in Alberobello date back to the 14th century. Among the most characteristic and particular are the Trulli Siamese, a house with a story to tell. These are two ancient trulli connected by the same roof.

Legend has it that two brothers in love with the same woman lived there. The girl was promised in marriage to the older brother, even though she was secretly in love with the younger one. The three of them began to live together in the trullo, until the older brother, blinded by jealousy, chased the two lovers away.
Later the younger brother returned to claim his share of the property and the three of them returned to live under the same roof. This time, however, with some alternative solutions: the trullo was divided in half into two houses, with two entrances located on opposite streets.
